In 1961 she was bought by Skipper Larsen, the first of a number of owners to use her for her originally intended purpose of fishing. The last of those in 1976, Hendriksen named her Monica and sailed her for two years. After that she was neglected for some years until 1985, when the then new owner a ship’s carpenter took her to The Netherlands to rebuild her; a task that took him some 15 years.

BROKERS COMMENTS
SAMSARA is a sturdy but beautifully contoured former Danish Hajkotter fishing vessel, which has been fully restored and is in very good condition - now almost as new. She has a wonderfully warm and authentic interior providing considerable space and comfort - well encapsulated within her strong framework and structure and designed to withstand whatever the weather might bring while exuding a beauty as well suited to calm waters. Substantial as she is, her well balanced and simply configured rig enables her to be sailed quite easily by 2 people.
CONSTRUCTION
Carvel built of 2 inch oak plank on oak frames with with deck of bankirai, the hull planking extends above deck level by some 60 cm to the gunwales. The superstructure is in American pine and furniture below a mix of pine and oak. Her spars are of solid larch and she has a fine complement of traditional and original blocks cheeked in ash.
