Laurent Giles 68 ft Sangermani Sloop 1958
VIOLA
BROKERS COMMENTS
Sangermani – very much the old money of Mediterranean yachting is captured in VIOLA; a fine exemplar of that understated good taste. She has belonged to only two families since her launch and it is little wonder she has slipped almost unnoticed into the popular ports and anchorages with such distinguished guests as the Agnelli family aboard. Scrutiny by an informed eye will have you inspired.
Elegantly constructed in mahogany & teak this sloop, designed by Jack Laurent Giles with Cesare Sangermani was built at the Sangermani yard in 1958. She has undergone several refits in her lifetime keeping her in tip-top condition, the latest of which last winter, has further enhanced comfort and facilities on board. Currently available for charter she is fully MCA compliant under the British Flag and is for sale whether as an ongoing business or for private use - for which she role she is equally well suited.

ACCOMMODATION AND DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT
There is accommodation for 6 to 8 in the three cabins all of which have en suite bathrooms. Two cabins have double berths, one with twin berths & there are two extra folding berths in the forward double, for another 2 people. The quality of the interior finish, largely in mahogany – and soft furnishings including carpets tailor-made to fit and be lifted - are second to none in style and ambience.
Approaching from the main saloon the aft cabin has twin berths and en suite head with shower, WC and bidet. There is substantial stowage locker space.
Coming forward along a short corridor alongside cushioned stowage lockers, the main deck saloon is entered by steps up (which lift to access to the engine room) revealing the ample and beautifully finished saloon in which there is comfortable seating for up to 10 people at a table offset to port with L shaped cushioned bench seating and additional directors chairs inboard. A substantial sideboard and navigation / chart space is to starboard. Beyond are steps down to the forward accommodation and galley. To port is the large double berth cabin with the galley opposite. Equipment therein includes:
- Whirlpool oven
- 5 burner hob
- Large fridge / freezer
- Bosch dishwasher
- Double sink and drainer
Forward again a head compartment with shower head and WC is to port and another head compartment opposite before a doorway amidships opens to the guest cabin forward with double berth and settee. This has a “secret” access to the crew quarters in the fore cabin, otherwise accessed from its own deck hatch. This cabin contains one single berth to port with 2 up and over singles opposite with an en suite head in the fore peak.
Self contained and separately accessible quarters are designed for up to 3 crew; typically the skipper, deckhand and cook. VIOLA’s interior is air conditioned / heated throughout.
