Ta Chiao CT 54 Cutter rigged Ketch 1980
HABIBYS
BROKERS COMMENTS
HABIBYS is a fine World class ketch designed by Robert Perry and Ted Hood and built by the world famous Ta Chiao Company in Taiwan. She is supremely spacious yet with attractive lines from the bowsprit, teak laid decks, centre cockpit and inside wheelhouse helm positions to the after deck and “galleon” transom.
With a powerful cutter ketch rig on silver spruce masts and spars she is equipped to go anywhere. Moreover she is designed and equipped for absolute ease of sailing - often single handed by the skipper.
With serious live aboard accommodation and facilities for cruising in considerable comfort and style, there are also many character features including parquet floors throughout the living area, beautiful original wood carvings, bespoke carpets, hand cast designer brassware, teak laminated stairway with carved handrails and leather upholstery throughout.
Following a recent refit, now on her swinging mooring off the West Coast of Scotland she is a rare example in Europe of such a yacht – also with RCD exemption and VAT paid status.

The accommodation is generous with 7 foot headroom and 6 to 8 berths with further occasional berths on saloon seats. The main access to accommodation below is via the upper deckhouse and companionway steps down.
The main saloon is roomy and comfortable for entertaining. Fully finished in teak yet very well lit by the pilothouse windows, it has teak coffee table and leather upholstery. To port is an “L” shaped settee with two lounge chairs across. There is abundant stowage with numerous drawers, lockers and bookshelves. A Taylors diesel cabin heater is by the aft bulkhead. A step down aft again on the port side leads to an excellent workshop area with workbench and storage.
The galley is forward to port and dinette directly opposite. This has leather upholstered seating for six around a lovely teak table. There is stowage under the seats and lockers outboard. The dinette converts to a full size double berth.
The en suite guest head has electric marine WC, exclusive Barwell brass shower and taps and hand basin, shower, vanity and lots of storage space.
Forward again is the guest stateroom. Well finished in teak, it features a double “V” berth, plenty of drawers and stowage lockers. A large hatch for deck access provides light and ventilation with insect screen.
Coming aft again through the main saloon and after bulkhead doorway are two generous pilot berths starboard with dressing table and stowage amidships. The navigation station is in the main cabin adjacent to the inside helm.
The spacious stateroom cabin aft athwartships furnished in teak – air conditioned but not much used in Scottish waters, has opening ports and a hatch above with a full width, double berth with memory foam mattress.
