BROKER'S COMMENTS

TWINK’s lines are extremely pleasing to the eye and short well formed ends could be from 15 years later in yacht design – by all accounts she is fast and weatherly. In need of a refit rather than a rebuild TWINK retains most of her original fittings and all of her 1930s charm – a vintage C&N at an affordable price.

Current status

We believe TWINK to be in sailing condition but that she would benefit from a refit

History

TWINK was designed by John Nicholson as a 7 Ton Bermuda rigged sloop for cruising as well as to comply with the YRA rating rules for the 5.53 Metre Class. She is a good example of this small class of Nicholson 30 - of which only 6 built. TWINK was first laid up in 1939 but not fully completed until post war 1945. It is believed that TWINK was owned for a period by the late well known actor and film star Peter Finch, who then left her to the Irish Guards. There are original drawings of this boat.
