BROKER'S COMMENTS

The year 2000 saw the start of the project to build Fairey Marine boats again using the Fairey Dagger hull and superstructure redesigned by Alan Burnard. The boat resembles an enlarged Huntsman 31 and shares the same soft dry ride.

ELEANOR JAYNE is hard to fault in every respect from her well chosen inventory, which includes a generator and engine refit in 2008 to her almost immaculate condition. This is a yachtsman’s motor boat and perfect for the role of mothership or family launch.

Historical notes

Fairey boats were highly sought after from their first appearance in the 1960s. Notable celebrity owners included Sir Max Aitken, Tommy Sopwith, Deborah Kerr and Billy Cotton. The marque benefitted further from its role in the early Bond film “From Russia with Love”. In 2004 ELEANOR JAYNE won 1st prize for the best presented Swordsman in the Fairey owners Concours d’Elegance.
