Classic yacht restoration
Moving on from the landmark restoration of the 1931 Fife schooner ALTAIR, in which their principal staff were critically involved, Fairlie rebuilt a large 1909 15m Class racing yacht whose sister ship had been owned by the King of Spain. The result was universally acclaimed as a masterpiece, from the stout backbone to the magical detail for which the yard is now famous. Fifteen major projects followed over the next 20 years, including cruising yachts and racing yachts from the 8m class up to the 19m class cutter MARIQUITA.
Fairlie's core workforce of time-served shipwrights now leads a widely skilled team who relish new restoration challenges and the opportunities to utilise their skills with both traditional and innovative materials.
