Class winner of the 1989 Marion-Bermuda Race, PRIMA DONNA is one of eleven S&S 40 "Type A" centre board yawls built by the master yacht builder Henry B. Nevins in City Island. S&S modelled the series after Carlton Mitchell’s Finisterre, the only three time consecutive (1954, ‘56, ’58) Bermuda Race winner - considered by some as the perfect combination of a fast racer and a comfortable cruiser.

The current owner purchased PRIMA DONNA in 1986 and has continued the tradition, winning the Marion-Bermuda Race in 1989, and has cruised extensively in her with his family to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and in New England waters constantly.
