BROKER'S COMMENTS

IVANHOE is an impressive Bermudan yawl designed by the famous Swedish designer Tore Holm, in the original name of HASVORNEN II for the Olympic sailor Sven Salen. Under his aegis she proved to be a fast and famous ocean racer – the most important of her designer’s boats were drawn to the International Rule and IVANHOE benefits from this influence. Her rig and interior layout could make this yacht an exciting prospect for the classic regatta charter market and her speed and potential to win trophies might well bring repeat business!

History

IVANHOE first came to the Mediterranean in the sixties to take part in a series of races in Greece in which King Constantine participated before returning to the north of Europe. In 1989 she was auctioned at Sotheby\'s in London to a new Spanish owner who moved her to Palma.

From 1990 to 92 she underwent an extensive refit in which apart from the hull, everything was pretty well renewed, special attention being paid to ease of sail handling.

More recently IVANHOE has taken part, among others, in the classic yacht regatta Trofeo Conde de Barcelona - being outright winner in 1992 and 1994, The Classic Race of Imperia 1998, the Voiles de Saint Tropez (2006), and Panerai Classic Sail Minorca Class V (2007). She was nominated a member of honour of Belle Classe Yacht Club of Monaco in October 2006.
